Inaguration Day

All went well for the rest of 2000, nothing major really happened until Gore's inaguration.


At the 20th of January 2001 Albert Arnold Gore Jr. was sworn President of the United States of America and Joseph Isadore Lieberman as Vice President, Gore then gave an inaguration speech

"as our country is entering another millenia, a new era, a new age, we must remember to celebrate unity and repress violence, we must embrace progress, and we must remember that we need to start this new age right" ~ a part of Al Gore's inaguration speech

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, so help me god" ~ Al Gore swearing the presidential oath

2000 Election recap

the 2000 election was a pretty competitive election overral, the main issue was the "Clinton Legacy" as it was called, Al Gore stated that his mission is to maintain and improve on the Clinton Legacy while Bush's campaign focused on a "New Duo" stating that the Democrats are tiring the people.

Al Gore also made a tour in the midwest and the Deep South rallying supporters and weakening the Republican hold in those states while Joe Lieberman focused on New England and the West Coast.

in the end after a stirring speech in Florida where Gore stated that America will be "blue today and blue tommorow" many predicted Gore to win in a landslide........

and they were right!

Gore won by a landslide at the EC and 6 million more votes than Bush
